In 2017 lets Take Back The  Land!: A new year’s message from BLF

The call to take back the land has been made by our ancestors who resisted the settler colonialist program of land dispossession of our people. In 2017 we simply echo the call of all our warrior ancestors who perished fighting for land.

We have waited  for over 22 years for land to be returned. If we wait any longer, we shall wait forever. In 2017 we must start the process to take back the land. We simply cannot tolerate the fact that only 35 000 white families and trusts own over 80% of our land when millions of blacks are landless. We want our land back simply because, in the first place, it is ours. Secondly, we want our land back because we are poor yet our land is so rich. South Africa has the highest deposit of minerals on earth yet it’s rightful owners are languishing in poverty and reduced to beggars. Blacks beg for work from those who stole our land and then exploit our labour. In Marikana a foreign company, Lonmin, which is exploiting our minerals is also exploiting our people. In 2012 Lonmin instructed the ANC government to murder black workers for profits. Lonmin has no right to be in South Africa after instigating such a massacre.

In 2017 we must not lament, we must organise and act. Black First Land First (BLF) is going to continue to fight white corruption. Johann Rupert and other white capitalists will be forced to account for the R26 billion stolen from the people.

BLF declares 2017 the year of taking back the land. Towards this, two main actions shall be undertaken, namely:

– Firstly, a one million signature campaign for land will be conducted! We shall be sending organized teams to the communities to engage with our people and ask the question, ” should blacks buy back their stolen land?”. The responses shall be sent to parliament. Furthermore, a National Land Imbizo shall be held in support of the million signatures of those who responded “NO” to the question posed.

– Secondly, land occupations shall engaged in. The strict criteria for land to be occupied is that it must be:

a. white owned;
b. productive; and
c. in use.

BLF hereby calls for volunteers, who wish to be part of the land occupation direct actions, to register their names so that they can be inducted and deployed to execute such occupations towards reclaiming our land. The time for just talking is over! Land occupation volunteers need not be members of BLF – any black person who is ready to face the land thieves to realize return of our land is called upon to register. Send your contact details, being your name; cell / land line number; and your email address, to land2017@gmail.com. You may also send a SMS or WhatsApp message to the cell number: +27723389916

Let’s honour our ancestors who fought for land. Let’s serve the interests of our children and their children. Let’s take back the land!
