BLF to meet Public Protector Mkhwebane on Thursday

Black First Land First (BLF) will meet the Public Protector, Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane, this coming Thursday, 12 January 2017.

BLF wrote to the Public Protector on 4 January 2017 and requested a meeting with her regarding feedback with respect to matters it had previously lodged with her office to be addressed. To this end the former Public Protector, Advocate Thuli Madonsela, had failed to look into the said matters during her term of Office.

The request for a meeting with the current Public Protector was to specifically address the following matters:

1. The progress and process towards the finalization of the CIEX investigation towards recovering the R26 billion stolen from the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) by monopoly white capital.

2. The progress and process towards finalising the BLF complaint of State Capture by white monopoly capital representatives such as Johann Rupert, Maria Ramos and others mentioned in our statement submitted to her office.

3. BLF has been asked by a number of communities and individuals such as Bapong ba Mogale, the Alexander Small Scale Developers and Mr Trevor Themba to intervene on their behalf in their cases. We also wish to find a way forward on the matters raised by them.

BLF welcomes the Public Protector’s decision to meet with us on 12 January 2017 at her office in Pretoria.
