Week 3 report:
We are happy to report that in the 3rd week of the #TakeBLFToParliament campaign donations have come to R10 000. This means that donations that have been received to date are R110 000. This excludes the pledges which stand at R100 000.
Black First Land First (BLF) is fundraising for the deposit of R600 000 to be sent to the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) by the end of January 2019 to enable it to contest the forthcoming general election.
In light of the continued commitment to the #TakeBLFtoParliament campaign, we have decided to give away 10 copies of Biko Lives!: Contesting the Legacies of Steve Biko to those who continue to support the call to take BLF to parliament. One of the editors of this seminal book is BLF President, Andile Mngxitama.
To participate in the giveaway, simply take a photo of your donation, tag @BLF_SouthAfrica (Twitter) or Black First Land First (Facebook) and use the hashtags #TakeBLFtoParliament and #eWalletToParliament and say shortly why you want BLF to go to parliament.
The competition runs from today, Friday, 23 November 2018 until Tuesday, 27 November 2018.
You can donate, using cellphone banking money transfer services like FNB e-Wallet, ABSA Cashsend, Nedbank Send-iMali and via Standard Bank Instant Money. Or you can make a direct deposit:
Account number: 625 7120 2911
Branch code: 253 305
Bank: First National Bank (FNB)

We thank all those who have been spreading the word to promote the campaign. It’s our revolution. We must fund it!
