BLF supports 13th cheque for pensioners

Black First Land First (BLF) supports the call for a 13th cheque for pensioners in December 2019.

The elderly remain the backbone of this country, particularly our grandmothers who raise our children and are strained with school fees, food and many other needs.

As part of #TakeBLFtoParliament, BLF has committed to building a house for a household led by a grandmother in rural KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) and knows first hand the challenges of the elderly. BLF thus calls for national support to the call of a 13th cheque for pensioners.

BLF calls on the Minister of Finance, Tito Mboweni, to do the right thing and grant the 13th cheque. Furthermore BLF urges and calls for pensions to be raised to a minimum of R5000! This is nothing compared to the uphill battles our economically marginalized elders are faced with.

Minister Tito Mboweni must sha sha the 13th cheque for pensioners!
