BLF says reveal the funders of the FW de Klerk foundation and OUTA

The attack on President Jacob Zuma has assumed new impetus after the elections. Black First Land First (BLF) had warned the public that a vote for Cyril Ramaphosa is a vote for the continuation and intensification of the attack on President Zuma.

BLF is not surprised by the court’s decision to compel the Directorate of Social Development to reveal the donors of the Jacob Zuma Foundation. The strategy of white monopoly capital is to silence Zuma through a judicial lynching. As part of this process, the criminal case being heard at the Pietermaritzburg High Court has been turned into a kangaroo court by loading it with judges that are known to be anti-Zuma.

Amabungane are the bulldogs of white monopoly capital. If they are interested in transparency why target the Jacob Zuma Foundation only? What about the FW de Klerk Foundation? What about the Mandela Foundation? Who funds OUTA?

BLF shall be submitting requests for the donors of the above organizations to be made public as per the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA). Transparency must not be used as a political weapon to silence the perceived enemies of white monopoly capital.

BLF shall be in court on the 20th of May to stand with President Zuma. We shall continue to defend black people who come under attack from land thieves and white monopoly capital by any means necessary. The process of setting up the Private Litigation Unit is also at an advanced stage.

BLF says arrest Maria Ramos, don’t appoint her to privatise Eskom!

Black First Land First (BLF) rejects Tito Mboweni’s appointment of Maria Ramos as the head of Eskom’s unbundling.

Ramos is a criminal who should be in jail, instead White Monopoly Capital (WMC) with the aid of Mboweni, have rewarded her with overseeing the privatisation of Eskom.

BLF has laid numerous charges against Ramos, including ABSA’s involvement in R26 billion stolen from the South African Reserve Bank (SARB).

Other charges against Ramos include manipulation of the currency in December 2015 so as to force President Zuma to fire Des Van Rooyen and hire Pravin Gordhan as Minister of Finance as well as collusion, corruption, fraud, money laundering, and theft, in relation to price fixing.

This appointment is to speed up the process of unbundling Eskom. This will ensure massive job losses and entrench private control of South Africa’s energy, ensuring higher costs and the poor will be left in the dark.

BLF policy on energy as well as the Elections Battle Plan outlines key actions that must be undertaken to ensure energy sovereignty:

1. Make it a crime to generate private energy for profit, and thus scrap Independent Power Producers (IPPs). At a cost of R1.4 trillion they are too expensive, they produce a third of the energy on a good day compared to nuclear, and they don’t solve the climate change crisis.

2. Bring back Brian Molefe, Matshela Koko & Dr Ben Ngubane in order to end load shedding.

3. Urgently increase nuclear energy generation, catering for a minimum of 30% of South Africa’s energy needs within 10 years. This will be the cheapest way to ensure energy sovereignty and because it is the cleanest energy source it will be the most meaningful method in fighting climate change.

4. Pursuit of new coal, together with nuclear and gas should ensure 100% of South Africa’s energy needs are met.

5. Redistribution of stolen land in the hands of 35 000 white families to black people, creating at least 1 million new farmers, and this together with implementation of Alternative Renewable Energy Model alone could see a 42% reduction in emissions target met within 5 years.

6. Implement an alternative renewable energy model which directly benefits the poor as well as emerging black businesses. To this end all new homes, black-owned farms and industrial projects should be assisted with renewable energy generation and incentivized where surplus energy is produced compared to home or industrial project usage.

7. Nationalization of the mining sector will offset the cost of nuclear energy generation, as well as balance out the emissions produced through mining and together ensure the possibility of industrialization and thus quality job creation.

BLF will engage in direct action to fight White Monopoly Capital capture of the energy sector.

Finally, BLF calls on the oppressed to fight back by voting BLF, a vote for Ramaphosa will ensure the detrimental privatisation of Eskom!

BLF condemns US withdrawal from Iran nuclear deal

BLF condemns US withdrawal from Iran nuclear deal

Black First Land First (BLF) is appalled by the escalation of United States (US) aggression towards Iran that has seen the US withdrawing on May 8 this year from the Iran nuclear deal and imposing severe sanctions on the country.

The nuclear deal which was adopted in October 2015 as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) had at least provided a relaxation of US sanctions – which had deterred ‘European and other companies’ from trading with and investing in Iran – in exchange for the Iranian government curtailing its nuclear program and submitting to international inspectors.

BLF condemns the actions of the US amid empty allegations (by itself and  Israel)  that Iran had reneged on the nuclear deal. This is a war led by the US against Iran to consolidate imperialist power. We applaud the efforts of the Iranian government and its people to defend the sovereignty of the country and to advance the commitment to peace, security and economic independence.

US imperialism, in cahoots with counter revolutionary forces within the country, is hellbent on effecting regime change by removing the democratically elected President Hassan Rouhani from power and replacing him with a US puppet via a Brazilian like coup. To achieve this the US has withdrawn from the nuclear deal which had been adopted by Germany, the European Union, Britain, France, China and Russia over and above the US and Iran. Furthermore, imperialism has imposed sanctions and conducted economic terrorism which has led to inflation levels increasing and ultimately the Iranian currency being attacked.

It must also be stated that imperialism has in cahoots with certain political parties, civil society organizations and other entities created political instability in Iran. To this end society has been mobilized via the captured mainstream media to create hostility against President Rouhani and to effect regime change. In this regard President Rouhani has been deliberately and wrongly projected by imperialism as the real enemy of the Iranian people. BLF is anti imperialist. We stand with the government and people of Iran in the struggle against US aggression and imperialism in general.

We condemn the audacity of the US to rally against Iran acquiring nuclear capabilities which in turn provides a significant measure of independence against the thieving imperialists. We remember the many crimes of the US and other imperialist nations against Iran including Britain’s fight for Iran’s oil, the US led coup in 1953 that ousted Mohammad Mossadeq from power, and the striking down of Iran Air flight 655 by the US Navy in July 1988 which resulted in 300 innocent people dying.

We further recall that in 1995 the the Clinton administration barred US entities from trading with Iran and investing in the country’s oil as well as gas; and in 1996 the US legislated on the imposition of penalties on foreign firms having significant investments in the said sector. We also note the intensification of sanctions during the Obama tenure including to this end legislating the Comprehensive Iran Sanctions, Accountability, and Divestment Act of 2010 and escalating sanctions in terms National Defense Authorization Act of 2012.

The nuclear deal of October 2015 has served to relax the monstrous sanctions that were imposed by the US, the European Union and the United Nations and thus give it a measure of independence. It further enabled Iran to gain access to its foreign frozen assets to the tune of $30 billion.  We note that even though Iran increased its oil exports substantially through the nuclear deal, the deal  didn’t address the fact that many of the western companies, particularly those relating to banking, were dissuaded from investing in the country.

BLF supports the decisions and commitments of the ministerial level meeting of the Joint Commission of the JCPOA which was held on 6 July this year in Vienna at the instance of the Islamic Republic of Iran to pave the way ahead so as to guarantee the effective implementation of the Iran nuclear deal and the review of unresolved challenges resulting from the withdrawal of the US from the said deal and its reimposition of sanctions that were previously lifted. We applaud the commitment of the participants to devise and implement practical solutions in relation to inter alia the following: ‘the maintenance and promotion of wider economic and sectoral relations with Iran’; ‘the preservation and maintenance of effective financial channels with Iran’; ‘the continuation of Iran’s export of oil and gas condensate, petroleum products and petrochemicals’; ‘the continuation of … (all) transportation relations’; ‘the promotion of export credit cover’; ‘clear and effective support for economic operators trading with Iran, particularly small and medium sized enterprises which are the backbone of many economies’; ‘the encouragement of further investments in Iran’; ‘the protection of economic operators for their investment and other commercial and financial activities’ regarding Iran in or in relation to Iran’; ‘the bringing together of private and public sector experts’; ‘the practical support for trade with and investment in Iran’; and ‘the protection of companies from the extraterritorial effects of US sanctions’.

We call for an end to all sanctions against Iran and for all the progressive nations and forces of the world to defend Iran against any attack by the US and its partners. President Rouhani is problematic to imperialism. He has consequently been deliberately and wrongly made to be the enemy in a bid to distract the people of Iran with side issues and to this end effect regime change in imperialist interests.

BLF calls on all to stand in solidarity with the Iranian government and its people. We say “hands off President Rouhani”, “no to regime change” and “fight imperialism, take back the economy”.

Cyril Ramaphosa allows military invasion of SA by USA

Cyril Ramaphosa allows military invasion of SA by USA

Black First Land First (BLF) is appalled by the brazen presence of the army of the United States of America (USA) in South Aftica (SA). Reports show that a massive USA military plane is stationed at the Lensaria Airport for the last few days. This is tantamount to setting up an American military base close to the capital city of our country.

The South African media has not cared to raise an alarm about this act of foreign military occupation of our country. The USA military invasion of SA occurs a few days after a two week long tour of the country by Robin Renwick. This raises questions about whether the USA military has been mandated to assist with the direct assault on the Radical Economic Transformation (RET) forces in SA.

BLF notes the silence of organisations that claim to fight state capture such as the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF). Julius Malema has in the past threatened to topple the government of Botswana because it has USA military bases stationed within it. He is however now quiet when the USA military is stationed right in the backyard of his Sandton home. The silence on this issue is another clear indication that there is a link between Robin Renwick’s visit to SA and the brazen display of USA military prowess.

BLF calls on Ramaphosa to tell Donald Trump to remove his war machines from our country with immediate effect. We are aware that this USA military invasion is about intimidating the RET forces and ensuring that the looting of our mineral resources by imperialism and white monopoly capital (WMC) continues.

Down with USA imperialism down!
