BLF condemns US sanctions on Venezuelan officials & calls for prosecution of Guaidó for treason

Black First Land First (BLF) condemns the cowardly actions of the United States (US) yesterday to force Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro to step down via the imposition of sanctions on six top-ranking security officials and several other prominent officials. The new sanctions follows the defeat of the US last weekend to invade Venezuela via the Columbian border under the guise of humanitarianism.

BLF applauds the efforts of those defending the sovereignty and peace of Venezuela in the face of US imperialist assault on the country. This includes those sanctioned yesterday namely the National Guard Commander Richard Lopez; the security officials stationed near the Brazilian and Colombian borders; and the 49 other Venezuelans banned from traveling to the US.

The opposition leader Juan Guaidó, the self appointed “Venezuelan President” at the behest of the US, is spreading the lie that some 300,000 Venezuelans could die unless US humanitarian aid is allowed to enter the country. In furtherance of the imperialist regime change agenda to remove the democratically elected President Maduro and replace him with the hand picked Guaidó – the latter was part of the US aid convoy from Colombia, to Brazil, to Paraguay inspite of being ordered by the Venezuelan Supreme Court not to leave the borders of the country. The US wants Maduro gone to enable it to loot Venezuela’s mineral resources including its oil reserves which is the biggest and richest in the world.

BLF notes that Guaido’s next destination to sell Venezuela’s regime change is Argentina. Guaido is clearly guilty of contempt of court and treason. BLF accordingly calls for the immediate arrest and prosecution of Guaido upon his return to the country on Monday.

BLF further reiterates its call on the Venezuelan people to continue the fight for its sovereignty and independence. We stand in internationalist solidarity with you and President Maduro.

BLF applauds Venezuela for cutting ties with pro U.S. Colombia

President Nicolas Maduro did the right thing yesterday by cutting all political and diplomatic relations with Colombia by virtue of the support given by Columbian President Ivan Duque for a United States) U.S. military invasion of Venezuela. Duque is amenable to the U.S. using the territory of Columbia to attack Venezuela. This is an attack on the peace and sovereignty of the nation.

Black First Land First (BLF) condemns the call of the Colombian President for Maduro to step down from power in favor of the pro imperialist puppet Juan Guaidó and subject himself to trial by the enemy. In a treasonous act Guaido appointed himself as President of the country on 23 January this year. This is clearly in preparation for the U.S. invasion of Venezuela. We note that the U.S. had also imposed sanctions on the oil exports of Venezuela so as to deprive the country of its livelihood and thereby undermine Maduro’s presidency.

The U.S. under the guise of humanitarianism has this past week attempted to enter Venezuela via Columbia with the assistance of Duque so as to further its coup plot and to get its hands on Venezuelan oil. BLF denounces Duque’s assistance to the U.S. to carry out its imperialist agenda.

The recognition by other reactionary countries (like Canada and those with U.S. sponsored puppet regimes like Brazil and Mexico) of Guaido as President of Venezuela is in furtherance of the same imperialist regime change agenda.

The removal of former pro BRICS President Zuma and his replacement with the pro imperialist Cyril Ramaphosa was also in line with the said agenda. With the success of the coup its clear South Africa did not succeed in withstanding the economic sabotage by imperialism. We are currently witnessing the return of aggressive pro-white business policies. This is manifested in the increased privatization of State Owned Entities and Enterprises thus completing and perpetuating imperialism’s regime change agenda.

The U.S. sponsored coup has failed in Venezuela because the Venezuelan people are one with Maduro in ending ties with Columbia.

BLF calls on the Venezuelan people to continue defending their borders, freedom, sovereignty and independence. We stands in solidarity with you and President Maduro.

US, Hands Off Maduro and PSUV Government!

US, Hands Off Maduro and PSUV Government!

Black First Land First (BLF) condemns the United States (US) recognition of Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaidó as Venezuela’s president and applauds the legitimate President Maduro’s move to cut all ties with the US. Guaidó’s call yesterday on Venezuela’s military to work with him is in furtherance of the US led regime change agenda in Venezuela.

Maduro’s election as the President is in line with the revolutionary constitution of Venezuela. He was chosen by the progressive people of Venezuela. The US wants to replace Maduro and the PSUV government with its puppet administration led by Guaidó. This is in line with its assassination attempt on Maduro’s life in August last year, and its crippling economic embargo and diplomatic isolation of Venezuela. It did the same in Brazil when it replaced Dilma Rousseff with Michel Temer, and jailed Luiz Inácio “Lula” da Silva so as to place Jair Bolsonaro in power. In South Africa (SA) too US led imperialism replaced the progressive President Zuma with the pro West Ramaphosa as president.

Significantly, President Maduro won the votes of over 2/3rds of the electorate in the 2018 presidential election. From the voter turnout of 9,389,056 Maduro obtained 5,823,728 votes, being 67.8 % of the total votes. This was a wondrous victory for Maduro and the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV).

We note that Venezuela has the most advanced people-centered automated electronic voting system in the world. Moreover in the past 24 years 19 elections were conducted via this system using the fingerprint of the voter. BLF hails this system of voting as a precedent to follow in eliminating the theft of votes and electoral fraud.

The US wants to restore the status it enjoyed prior Hugo Chavez taking power. It wants to coup Venezuela’s legitimate President and government so that capitalist imperialist interests can resume looting the country’s rich resources including oil and reverse all the gains of the Bolivarian Revolution.

BLF further denounces the counter revolutionary regimes of Latin America who toe the line of US led imperialism to effect regime change in Venezuela. As an anti-imperialist movement we maintain our defence of President Maduro, the PSUV government and the Bolivarian Revolution.

We call on Maduro and the PSUV Government to deal appropriately with Guaidó and other US lackeys in government. The US must get its filthy hands off Venezuela. BLF shall continue with its project to popularize the ‘Hands Off Maduro and PSUV Government’ campaign – including engaging in protest action at the USA embassy and countering the lies told by the white owned media about what’s going on in Venezuela.
