Hands off Minister Sisulu

Black First Land First (BLF) rejects with the contempt it deserves the attack on Minister Lindiwe Sisulu by Acting Chief Justice Raymond Zondo. Judge Zondo has long abandoned the decorum of the judiciary and dabble in politics. His ire was raised by the call for a thorough going transformation by Minister Sisulu. The politically charged response by Judge Zondo to a mere opinion piece betrays the fact that the judge has chosen sides in the political battles inside the ANC.

Judge Zondo’s tirade against Minister Sisulu is a clear indication of which political side he is batting on. The judge seeks the approval of the Stellenbosch agenda driving faction of the ANC led by Cyril Ramaphosa. The attack on the minister shows how biased and prejudiced the judge is against Radical Economic Transformation (RET). The tirade against Minister Sisulu vindicates our belief that the Zondo Commission was nothing but a judicial lynching of those seen as leaders of RET.

The debate started by Mininster Sisulu must be encouraged and undertaken without fear or favour. The judicial lynch mob must be stopped before we have a full de facto dictatorship.

COVID-19: BLF calls on Ramaphosa to stop the apartheid forced removals

COVID-19: BLF calls on Ramaphosa to stop the apartheid forced removals

Image SABC

The goverment of President Cyril Ramaphosa is using the lockdown of the country as a pretext to institute apartheid forced removals of the poor. The harassment of Abahlali baseMjondolo by the EThekwini Municipality with the assistance of the police and army is part of the grand plan to forcibly remove the poor from the cities during the lockdown.

The announcement by the Minister of Human Settlements, Water & Sanitation, Lindiwe Sisulu, for the “decongestion” of crowded spaces, is a code name for apartheid forced removals.

Black First Land First (BLF) calls on Ramaphosa to immediately stop all forced removals and evictions. To this end we call for the following:

1. A moratorium on all planned forced removals – apartheid forced removals must end.
2. A moratorium on all evictions including evictions from farms.
3. No one should be evicted for non payment of rentals during the lockdown.
4. Ramaphosa to immediately instruct the EThekwini Municipality to stop harassing Abahlali baseMjondol.
5. Provision of food parcels to the poor.

Dear Mr Frost

DISREGARD THE RACIST RANTING OF AFRIFORUM

I write as one of the leaders of the organizations representing the survivors of colonialsm and apartheid. It has come to our attention that a racist extremist group that masquerades as a civil rights organization has written to you to intervene in South Africa (SA). This group called Afriforum is nothing but a racist organization that states explicitly in its mission that it promotes the interests of settler colonialists who dispossessed us of our land and even instigated genocides against the indigenous population. We ask you to please not waste your time by entertaining this group’s wild and fabricated claims.

Afriforum denies that apartheid is a crime against humanity despite the UN having declared that indeed apartheid is a crime against humanity. This same group is supporting the whites only racist enclave called Orania which is located in the Northern Cape Province of SA.

Afriforum has been mobilizing funds to protect white farmers who murder innocent black children. Occasionally the racist outfit, in order to cover its racism, gives lip service to assisting black people.

Sir, it’s a blatant lie that white farmers are a target of any orchestrated violence. This is a mirage, given the amount of violence generated by these white farmers against vulnerable black farm workers whom they treat as property. Just to give you a perspective – because of apartheid there is structural violence in the black community which remains excluded from the land, 25 years after democracy. This structural violence leads to 20 000 murders in SA annually. The last financial year statistics suggest that less than 100 of the 20 000 murdered were white farmers.

Afriforum is just a racist bunch of loud racists who believe that the world owes them by virtue of them merely being white. The UN shouldn’t waste its precious time and resources on a demented groupuscule of racists.

Yours sincerely,

Andile Mngxitama
President of Black First Land First (BLF)
