The Black First Land First (BLF) movement is taking the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) to court on an urgent basis. BLF has been banned by the IEC from participating on the upcoming August 3, Local Government Elections (LGE).

For two weeks the IEC has refused to give reasons or an update on the BLF application for registration. Just an hour ago BLF received a letter from the IEC practically blocking our participation in the LGEs.

BLF has decided to take the matter to the Northern Gauteng High Court on an urgent basis.
