The white ruling class and its right wing racist civil society partners are exposed. They support democratic rights only if they are congruent with their interests and agenda. The white opposition parties are anti democratic as well. The ruling party, the ANC, is always responsive to white fears. There is no need at all to mobilise the army against protest action on a holiday.

Black First Land First ( BLF) shall not join the shutdown but supports the right to protest. Our refusal to participate is based on our reading that Stellenbosch and London doesn’t want Ramaphosa anymore. Their call coincides with the interests of Stellenbosch that is the same force which has brought the energy crisis to justify the privatisation of Eskom and other state-owned entities.

The leading forces of the shutdown brought us here when they joined forces with imperialism to get rid of Jacob Zuma and the progressive black management core including Brian Molefe, Dudu Myeni, Hlaudi Motsoeneng .

Imperialism wants Ramaphosa gone, so too does Stellenbosch. Our actions must drive our own agenda. Having said that, BLF fully supports the democratic rights of EFF to protest. We must resist the creeping in of dictatorship to assure white fears. The revolution is coming but the shutdown is not that moment, so the reactionary forces must relax. The revolution shall be unled!
