Stop the persecution of Advocate Mkhwebane

Stop the persecution of Advocate Mkhwebane

The name of Black First Land First (BLF) has been mobilsed in the kangaroo court going on in parliament against the Public Protector, Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane. The Section 194 Enquiry is calculated to muzzle the investigation on the corruption and unlawfull conduct of President Ramaphosa on the Phala Phala scandal. Furthermore, the Public Protector is being crucified for finding that ABSA must pay back the money stolen from the people of South Africa. Also her recommendation for the transformation of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) into an institution that serves the people, frightened and enraged the Stellenbosch mafia which controls the South African economy and policies around the management of it.

It is instructive that the courts which ruled against her ABSA findings, didn’t get into the merits of her findings; and based their decision on the technicalities of ABSA not being consulted but the State President and BLF (the complainant) being consulted instead,

It’s not a secret that under Advocate Thuli Madonsela the Office of the Public Protector was a bulldog of white monopoly capital, the primary enemy of BLF. It’s further no secret that Johann Rupert thanked Adv Madonsela with a professorship and a cushy job at his University of Stellenbosch.

Parliament must stop the witch-hunt through its bogus hearings. The courts have ruled for the return of the Public Protector to her job. She must be allowed to go back and conclude her work and her tenure.

BLF takes strong exception at its name being dragged like this without being called to provide its own version on the matter.

Hands Off the Public Protector

Hands Off the Public Protector

Image: allAfrica.com, Adv Busisiwe Mkhwebane

Black First Land First ( BLF) is not surprised by the unethical mafia like behaviour of Cyril Ramaphosa. The timing of his suspension of the Public Protector shows that he doesn’t respect the rule of law.

The criminal conduct of the President is now blatant. Ramaphosa is trying to get a pliant Public Protector to help him cover up his crimes. Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane is being removed from office to stop her investigations of serious criminal conduct of Ramaphosa. It’s time for Ramaphosa to step down.

Ramaphosa has proven beyond reasonable doubt that he is not fit to govern. The country is in the hands of a criminal President who uses the state to protect himself against the law. Ramaphosa is a virtual criminal beholden to white capital.

We call on Ramaphosa to stop the witch-hunt against Advocate Mkhwebane. We say Hands Off the Public Protector!

The Public Protector punished for fighting apartheid corruption

The Public Protector punished for fighting apartheid corruption

The Public Protector, Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane, is being dragged to court for ruling that ABSA must pay back the money stolen from the people of South Africa during apartheid. It is no secret that Bankorp was part of a list of organizations and individuals that looted over R26 billion from the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) just before the end of apartheid. Others include the Rupert family.

Bankorp has since been swallowed by ABSA and the Public Protector was therefore correct to find that ABSA must pay back the money stolen from SARB.

Black First Land First (BLF) supports the correct finding which has been overturned in a political decision of the North Gauteng High Court and erroneously buttressed by the Constitutional Court. It’s a simple matter that was never disputed that Bankorp, together with others, benefited unlawfully from the R26 billion so called “life boats” which was an illegal mechanism to steal money from SARB.

The irony is that those who stole from SARB found favour with the current President, Cyril Ramaphosa, and his cronies like Pravin Gordhan who are linked to the looters of SARB and are therefore protected.

Maria Ramos, who was CEO of ABSA at the time that the Public Protector’s report was released, is one of the CR17 donors. This explains why the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has hastened to drag the Public Protector to court. This is the revenge of the CR17 donors who have captured the state.

Is it not ironic that real corruption like the over R200 billion Steinhoff mess has not seen the culprits such as Markus Jooste brought before the courts?

The dragging of the Public Protector to court because she ruled that ABSA must pay back the money must be seen as evidence beyond doubt that the Ramaphosa administration is working for white monopoly capital. This is the fascism and tyranny of Stellenbosch. It’s an insult to the independence of the state and the sovereignty of our people.

Let no one be confused about why the Public Protector is in court. It has nothing to do with any wrongdoing on her part. It’s all part of the fight back by the CR17 donors who have captured the state through capturing the State President.

BLF calls on the nation to stand with the Public Protector and to pray for her protection. This is an evil war.

Update on R350 grant complaint to Public Protector

Update on R350 grant complaint to Public Protector

Black First Land First (BLF) had in June 2020 lodged a complaint with the Public Protector Advocate Mkhwebane on behalf of three thousand, two hundred complainants. These three thousand people represent millions of poor and deserving people who have been denied their rightful share of the R500 billion that was allocated for Covid-19 relief. The bulk of the money went to white monopoly capital (WMC) and some to corrupt goverment officials.

The poor who applied for the R350 grant have in the main been denied even this small relief. The reasons for declining to help these poor millions do not make sense – they are unfair to the poor. That’s why BLF lodged the complaint with the Public Protector.

We are please to report that the Office of the Public Protector has been working on the complaint of BLF and we have been kept updated with developments.

The latest update indicated that 1263 of the 3204 applications queried by BLF had been subsequently approved and 1941 were declined by SASSA. To this end a spreadsheet by SASSA indicating the reasons for declining and/or querying the SRD applications was provided to us by the Public Protector. The spreadsheet also indicated that only 628 applicants (19.6%) were paid; and 14 more applicants who qualified, but didn’t have bank accounts, were not paid.

We note the progress with the 1263 applications from the over 3000 complaints which have been approved after BLF‘s complaint. However, it is worrying that only 19.6% of these have actually been paid.

BLF has written back to the Public Protector with suggested recommendations to deal with these complaints speedily and in the favour of the poor. The bureaucratic process is unfair to the poor and is informed by an unreasonable distrust of the poor. The whole world is moving towards a universal income grant. South Africa should be leading in this process.

Whilst the complaint lodged by BLF with the Public Protector accounts for just over 3000 complainants, in reality it’s a sample representation of millions of the poor.

BLF shall continue to engage the Office of Public Protector to ensure that the poor get what they deserve.
