Dudu Myeni Punished for Transformation

Dudu Myeni Punished for Transformation

Former board chairperson of the South African Airways (SAA), Ms Dudu Myeni

Black First Land First (BLF) is not surprised by the North Gauteng High Court’s declaration on Wednesday of Ms Dudu Myeni as a delinquent director for life.

Throughout the trial, the presiding Judge Ronel Tolmay was visibly biased and irritable when dealing with Ms Myeni. The finding seems to have been a foregone conclusion. The judiciary has increasingly become an activist in the political arena where Radical Economic Transformation (RET) is concerned. It is seemingly doing the bidding of White Monopoly Capital (WMC), which stands to lose the most from RET.

Ms Myeni is being punished for pushing for the transformation of the SAA. She commissioned numerous forensic investigations during her tenure at SAA which have shown, amongst other things, that over R1 billion was disappeared by corruption.

Furthermore the investigations uncovered racist evergreen contracts and systematic looting through an unjustifiable perks regime for the largely white pilots cohort. Ms Myeni has moreover decried the skewed and racist pattern of spending the procurement budget at SAA. To this end she had challenged the fact that out of the SAA annual procurement budget of R24 billion, 98% goes to white companies and only 2% is spent on black businesses. Me Myeni had in fact demanded changes and to this end has angered white businesses who in turn also own the media that was unleashed upon her.

Ms Myeni is being punished for this. BLF calls on the judiciary to desist from descending into the political arena. The judiciary doesn’t engender public confidence in itself. Increasingly it looks like the judges are pushing an agenda. This is sowing the wind. We must not be surprised when the whirlwind is reaped.

BLF condemns coordinated attacks on Dudu Myeni

State institutions meant to protect every citizen are used to persecute those considered hostile to white monopoly capital (WMC). Ms Dudu Myeni, the former board chairperson of the South African Airways (SAA), is facing a well funded and well coordinated judicial attack by forces of reaction. The white right wing groups masked as civil society entities are using the untransformed courts to stop the program of Radical Economic Transformation (RET).

Dudu Myeni is being persecuted for wanting change at SAA. The nation still doesn’t know that the source of the SAA crisis is a white American man called Coleman Andrews who took over R200 million for himself after selling off aircrafts belonging to the national carrier to his friends and promptly allowing them to be leased back to the SAA.

It’s the height of hypocrisy that Dudu Myeni is in court and Coleman Andrews is enjoying the loot he got from the SAA.

Black First Land First (BLF) will be submitting a complaint of state capture, by Coleman Andrews and his gang, to the Zondo Commission.

Pravin withholding R2 billion bailout of SAA to ensure privatization

Black First Land First (BLF) agrees with both the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (NUMSA) and the South African Cabin Crew Association (SACCA) that Pravin Gordhan is deliberately running the South African Airways (SAA) down. The objective is to justify the privatization of SAA. This is a long held objective of Pravin Gordhan.

It makes no sense that all the national carrier has been deprived of is a mere R2 billion. This is the same tactic that Pravin used during the tenure of Dudu Myeni. He deliberately withheld the release of financial statements in his evil quest to precipitate a crisis at SAA so as to justify its privatisation.

The crisis at SAA, like that at Eskom, is a deliberate creation to justify privatization which is the program of ThumaMina. Both the crisis at Eskom and SAA can only end when the saboteur in chief is removed from government. There is no other way, Pravin Gordhan Must Go!

BLF launched an online petition over a week ago to put pressure on Ramaphosa to recall Gordhan from his position as Minister. The campaign aims to achieve the grand total of 10 000 (ten thousands) signatures for submission to the president of the country, Cyril Ramaphosa. Let’s tell Ramaphosa #PravinMustGoNow

Fight privatization of SAA, defend state assets

Fight privatization of SAA, defend state assets

Black First Land First (BLF) denounces the sale by the South African Airways (SAA) of the Airbus A340-300s, A340-600s and 15 spare engines. We are not surprised by the sale of the assets of SAA.

When Cyril Ramaphosa placed the SAA under business rescue last month, he did so at the behest of white monopoly capital (WMC) who spent R1 billion to bribe the ANC Nasrec conference so as to secure his position as president of the country. Ramaphosa is the preferred candidate of WMC in cahoots with imperialism. Now he is delivering the country to his sponsors.

BLF reiterates that those who voted for Ramaphosa voted for the dishing out of state assets to WMC and its agents. We maintain that after WMC has finished with the SAA they will seize Eskom.

BLF calls on all the progressive forces to hold an urgent national meeting towards stopping privatization in defence of state assets.
