Today Black First Land First (BLF) declares its participation in a three party electoral pact to contest Ward 68 in the City of Johannesburg Municipal By-Elections scheduled for 18 March 2020.
The historic tripartite pact between BLF, Sakhisizwe Convention (SA) and the Patriotic Alliance (PA) shall be launched today at 11am at Riverlea High School. More political parties have indicated willingness to join the coalition.
In terms of the pact the parties will campaign and support the PA candidate Fuad Erentzen. The electoral agreement is based on a clearly spelt out commitment to address the pertinent demands of the people of Ward 68.
The top ten demands to be addressed by the coalition are as follows:
1. Stop evictions Now!
2. Jobs for the unemployed
3. Decent housing
4. Clean running water
5. Free electricity
6. Efficient Pikitup
7. Clinics
8. Schools
9. Stop crime and drugs
10. Peace amongst Africans and Coloureds
BLF shall hold the ward councilor accountable to these commitments as per the elections agreement.
