MARCH TO SOUTH AFRICAN RESERVE BANK ON 17 FEBRUARY 2017: BLF INVITATION

MARCH TO SOUTH AFRICAN RESERVE BANK ON 17 FEBRUARY 2017: BLF INVITATION

In 1997, CIEX a private investigations company was commissioned by the government to investigate apartheid era crime and corruption. The report submitted to former President Thabo Mbeki suggested that billions were stolen by white capital of which R26 billion is recoverable immediately.

In August 2011 the former Public Protector indicated that she would conduct investigations into the matter of the stolen R26 billion. Black First Land First (BLF) has since 7 September 2015 been engaged in direct action to get the Public Protector to finalise her report in this respect.

Despite the fact the three investigations – Ciex, Heath and the Davis Panel of Experts – had found that ABSA had illegally benefitted from certain lifeboats obtained from SARB, the previous Public Protector did not do anything meaningful in this respect and she  eventually vacated her office at the end of her tenure. After a successful meeting with BLF on the issue, the new Public Protector indicated in her preliminary report that ABSA had illegally benefitted in the amount of R3.2 billion from lifeboats obtained from SARB during the apartheid era. This finding by the Public Protector has vindicated BLF. This means that ABSA’s wrongdoings is now supported by four reports, two of which – Ciex report and the Public Protector’s preliminary report – calling for ABSA to pay back the money.

BLF has subsequently planned a new series of actions which is aimed at raising awareness about how ABSA illegally benefitted from the nation’s money.

On 28 January, BLF successfully held nationwide pickets at 50 ABSA outlets. This kick started the movement’s rolling protest action against ABSA to force it to pay back the money. This was followed, on the evening of Saturday 28 January, by a successful public dialogue on “why must ABSA pay back the money”.

BLF will continue to intensify its actions against ABSA until it pays back the money.

BLF is calling on the nation, progressive organisations, the church, revolutionary people’s movements, the revolutionary students and individuals to join the call for ABSA to pay back the money! We invite you to join us under the following details:

Date: 17 February 2017
Event: March to the South African Reserve Bank
Assembly Point: Church Square, Tshwane
Time: 10:00
Contact Person: Khumbu Bavu (National Coordinator, BLF)
Cell: 062 695 4985
Email: [email protected]

SARB has not done anything to protect the nation’s assets stolen by white capital. Also  successive governors of SARB have defended white capital. The current leadership of SARB is beholden to the white owned banks and capital and therefore there is little reason to think that they will cooperate with the Public Protector in a manner that would help to return our stolen billions! The purpose of the march to SARB is to compel ABSA to pay back the money.

Your presence will be greatly appreciated. BLF will not stop until ABSA pays back the money which in turn must be used towards realizing Fees Must Fall and empowering the unemployed youth.

BLF (Black First Land First) Limpopo congratulate the class of 2016.

BLF (Black First Land First) Limpopo congratulate the class of 2016.

6 January 2017

Media Statement

BLF (Black First Land First) Limpopo congratulate the class of 2016 matriculants.

The BLF in Limpopo joins the people of the Limpopo province to congratulate the hard working and successful 2016 matriculants announced by MEC for basic education in S.A.

BLF Limpopo would also like to congratulate the top achiever of 2016; Karabo Moremi and the Vhembe district for always putting Blacks in their district first; specifically Mbilwi Tshivhase and Thengwe schools.

As BLF Limpopo we do not celebrate the 62% as the best results. Our provincial department got more than R27bn in budget to improve the standard of education in the province but it seems like the opposite happened. With almost half of the provincial budget allocated to Limpopo Department of Basic Education but with this poor performance, BLF has noted that the problem isn’t with the educators, students nor the Department of Basic Education in Limpopo rather within the Provincial Leadership of the ruling party.

Internal factions in the province have put MEC Ishmael Kgetjepe’s department under administration. BLF has also noted that the road to the ruling party’s national conference is the reason why Mr Kgetjepe was neutralized in his department were looting by the provincial leadership of the ruling party is the order of the day.
The premier of Limpopo puts his interests(tenders) first than the people of this province.

BLF Limpopo cannot allow political factions destroy the future of our black society anymore,Greediness and Selfishness in this Province has compromised the citizens enough. The ruling party has also lost its morals and values. Statistically since the Premier took over the region ,the youth unemployment rate in the province has grown by 30% whilst the pensioners in the leadership are getting richer by the day.

BLF Limpopo demands that the Premier and the Limpopo MEC of Basic Education to account for this Province’s poor performance in 2016 due to their differences.

Black First Land First demands that the leadership of the ruling party in the Province to put Black People First and Land First before their tenders.

Open letter to Julius Malema: Do not go into coalition with the racist DA

Open letter to Julius Malema: Do not go into coalition with the racist DA

The 2016 Local Government Elections (LGE) have put the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in a vantage position to set a national agenda in South Africa. This position is unique and rare. The EFF can choose to use it to advance the revolution or to strengthen the hand of white supremacy.

Black First Land First (BLF) calls on the EFF to break ranks with the imperialist agenda and choose the path of revolutionary progress by abandoning any talk of a coalition with the racist party of white monopoly capital, the Democratic Alliance (DA) of Helen Zille. A coalition with the DA shall only benefit the same people who have benefited from stealing our land.

There is no denying that the ruling party, the African National Congress (ANC), has failed to use its power to advance black liberation. In this window of opportunity given by history to advance the course of black liberation, through the strategic use of the ballot, we need visionary leadership which is able to tower above our immediate feelings, differences and concerns. Mr Malema, you are being called upon to step forward and change the course of history. You can choose to be consumed by petty hatred of Jacob Zuma or you can choose to be inspired by a revolutionary vision and turn the current impasse into a breakthrough for our long suffering people.

At this hour the ANC needs what the EFF can give and in turn the ANC has what can be used by the EFF to end the suffering of our people. The percentage of the vote the EFF has can save the major metropolitan cities from falling into the hands of the racist anti-black DA. The ANC needs nothing more than that possibility. Only EFF can save us from the white rule of DA in these metros. The ANC knows this, as all of us do.

On the other hand the ANC, because it is the ruling party which has the legislative majority, has what the EFF can use to advance the revolution. Only the ANC has the power to change national policy to end white racism and to return our land. The ANC needs the votes you have and the revolution needs the authority the ANC has but has been too timid to use. Now history has provided the condition to force the hand of the ANC to do the right thing. Lenin, the great Russian revolutionary of the last century, teaches us that at times history needs a little push. It can be done, for our people and our progeny.

The ANC is on the ropes. No its not Mohammed Ali’s “rope-a-dope”, its their back against the wall. There is no need for a sadistic rubbing it on their faces. Let’s humiliate the history of humiliation that has put our people in perpetual misery. Mr Malema we call on you to make an offer the ANC cannot refuse. Tell them they can keep the metros on the following conditions:

1. Land expropriation without compensation
2. Nationalisation of mines and banks
3. Free education for all
4. Living wages and a basic income grant
5. Reparations for Marikana.

Tell them that the first condition is non negotiable. You may add an implementation plan which may include strategic placement of your trusted people in key positions. Also present the ANC with a time table of implementation with clear objectives. This is how the country can be rescued from the blubbering incompetence and cowardice of the ANC on the one hand and on the other hand the arrogance of white supremacy of the DA.

EFF stands to lose nothing for making these demands. If the ANC rejects this revolutionary offer to rescue our people then it’s the biggest loser and your party can only grow in stature in the eyes of our people. Now is the time to focus on what is fundamental. To abandon any commitment with imperialism and choose the path of revolutionary leadership.

History has thrown us a rope. Lets grab it with both hands and end the long nightmare of 350 years of bondage by a foreign occupying force. The choice here is between maintaining the racist status quo by going with the DA into a coalition of the bitter or to force the hand of the ANC and return our land and dignity. These choices are clear. We wait for you to make the correct turn and end the ongoing humiliation of the black majority. We implore you to sit down with the gang from Luthuli House. You have nothing to lose but to gain a whole new world for all of us.

You can choose this path or you can choose the path of joining hands with our enemies and continue our oppression.

Yours sincerely

BLF To Consider Establishing Anti Racism Self Defence Units

BLF To Consider Establishing Anti Racism Self Defence Units

Black First Land First (BLF) notes the escalation of anti black racism attacks and activities in South Africa. Black people are randomly attacked by white civilians across the nation. To this end many videos have come up recently and no arrests or action has been taken against the racist perpetrators.
